Do you have a big date coming? A wedding that you have to attend? A high school reunion? Whatever the case is you want to look your best and get rid of that unsightly belly bulge. Many people that have been dieting on and off for years know that the belly is the hardest area to target. However, losing belly fat in 2 weeks is not impossible. Here is a 4 step guide to a flat stomach:
1. Water and more water – you have probably heard about the miraculous properties of water when it comes to weight loss. The human body is comprised of more than 70 % water. When the water intake is insufficient, the body holds on to the water it has (the so called survival mode). On the other hand increasing the water intake will cause the body to stop hoarding its limited supplies. Drinking enough water ( more than a gallon a day) can be hard at the beginning. Constant visits to the restroom can be discouraging. But once you get through the first days, it gets a lot easier. Many people can lose easy 5 pounds “on demand” simply by increasing their water intake. This is a trick used by wrestlers and professional fighters who want to go to a lower weight category in no time.
2. Stay away from alcohol – drinking lots of alcohol is specifically associated with gaining fat in the midsection of the body. Besides alcohol calories are completely useless-alcohol does not contain any nutrients and the entire amount of calories consumed is store as fat. Besides a 700 calorie margarita leaves you just as hungry as you were before drinking it.
3. Choose a workout plan carefully – It’s a huge mistake to focus SOLELY on your abdomen. Crunches and are good but only when combined with a healthy dose of cardio and weight lifting.
4. Dietary supplements – let’s face it. No matter how hard we work to maintain a healthy weight, sometimes we need a little extra help to jump start our metabolism. Many supplements have proven to work when combined with the right diet/workout plan. Supplements are especially needed when it comes to belly fat.
Why? Because when under diet and hectic workout the human body produces more of the so called “stress hormone”-cortisol. Over secretion of cortisol results in the storage of more fat in the midsection of the body. Thus cortisol blocks the effect of dieting and exercise. Supplements can help neutralize the effect of cortisol and rev up the fat burning process.
If you are wondering “how to lose belly fat”, simply follow the 4 steps outlined above. When you combine them with the right amount of determination, you have a winner on your hands.
