You may have seen the Beyonce diet and you may be asking your self if you can lose 20 lbs a week and maybe more over a longer period of time. Beyonce Knowles was on Oprah claiming she had done just that and there is no denying she looked great, but is it really possible.
Well firstly this wasn’t really a ‘Beyonce Diet’ as such but more like a diet that she used and then talked about, but as usual when a mega star tags any kind of recommendation to something it usually gets named after them. The diet that Beyonce completed has a few different names like, Master Cleanse, Lemonade Cleanse, Lemonade Diet or even simple Colon Cleanse.
This is not so much a diet but more of a detox of your whole body including bowels and colon that causes you to lose weight very quickly.
It works by removing built up waste, much of which is years old from your intestines. This is literally old food and fat that is stuck in all of your internal plumbing and a special detox drink is consumed for 7-10 days that flushes it all out.
It literally comes out as waste and there is often a lot of it so you lose weight from day 1. Many people lose 1-2 pounds daily so yes weight loss is rapid. Can you lose 10 lbs a week? Well I am no scientist but it depends on the amount of waste you have clogging up your intestines. If you have 20 lbs worth and it is all flushed out then you can do the math. if not then perhaps you won’t lose so much weight.
What I do think is good about the hype surrounding Beyonce’s diet is the fact that has opened up a lot of peoples eyes to colon cleansing. The health benefits that are associated with it are huge and many people see restoration of hormone levels, more energy and they experience their body finding it’s own natural weight without having to diet much.
Can you lose 10 pounds a week on the Beyonce diet? I personally think it depends on the person going through the detox, but there is no doubt that it will help you lose significant weight and you will experience some great health benefits.
